Mikaela Maldonado, DVM

Dr. Mikaela Maldonado grew up on the east coast, born in Philadelphia with much of her teenage years in Charlotte, North Carolina. She arrived with the horse bug and after years of begging her parents, her first horse in her early teen years taught her that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She completed an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University and stayed to complete her Veterinary Medicine degree at CSU in 2023. During her time at CSU, she developed a passion for sports medicine and furthered her education with the completion of a rotating equine internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center. Her internship taught her the impact of imaging on the care of the horse and she went on to complete a diagnostic imaging fellowship at Animal Imaging in Dallas, TX to further her diagnostic skillset. Through these experiences, she uncovered her passion for diagnostic imaging and is currently training as a resident with Inside Information Radiology.
